Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

define the theory, legislation, policy, research and practice for the industry.

assess the structure, properties and characteristics of raw materials and products.

apply industry-specific communication skills, including literacy and numeracy, to clearly communicate processes, safety requirements and design decisions in practical demonstrations and written tasks

use foundational skills and methods to safely design, prepare and produce products in practical contexts
