Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
understand and explain the role of stories in traditional and contemporary teaching and learning
identify and apply developmentally and culturally inclusive strategies for teaching listening and viewing, reading, writing and speaking through story
understand and apply knowledge of pedagogies for teaching using children’s literature and other texts to develop children’s reading skills and knowledge.
identify and apply rhetorical strategies for teaching through story
