Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

analyse cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language development in relation to progressing from novice to expert learners across diverse contexts.

evaluate the impact of memory, cognitive load, and knowledge retention on learning, applying research-based perspectives to address learning challenges.

critique neuromyths and misconceptions about learning by synthesising contemporary research on the brain and developmental theories.

apply theoretical learning and development perspectives to critically evaluate research-informed frameworks that support all learners.
