    This unit includes five days of observation in a school or early childhood centre. Students MUST provide evidence of compliance for all placement requirements prior to attending professional placement. Students must comply with the vaccination requirements of placement providers. Unit description

Encourages deep understandings through interdisciplinary explorations of real-world problems, solutions and responses. Students develop an interdisciplinary framework by exploring connections between disciplines in real-world contexts. This framework is then applied to explore a real-world problem. The unit emphases critical and creative thinking, literacy and numeracy, and ethical and interconnected approaches to problems that matter.

Module 1. Disciplinary, Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary approaches to problems. 
 
Module 2. Transforming the PDHPE through Interdisciplinary approaches to problems. 
 
Module 3. Transforming the Creative Arts through Interdisciplinary approaches to problems. 
 
Module 4. Transforming the Humanities through Interdisciplinary approaches to problems. 
 
Module 5. Transforming Science and Technology through Interdisciplinary approaches to problems. 
 
Module 6. Transforming Mathematics through Interdisciplinary approaches to problems.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. define and understand a chosen discipline in relation to other disciplines

identify and understand applications of interdisciplinary approaches to problems or challenges

develop and apply an interdisciplinary framework to a specific problem or challenge
