Unit description

Investigates the concept of wellbeing in educational contexts, and the practice of schooling initiatives that support a well profession. The role of teachers and, specifically, the school leader, in enabling wellbeing is extensively explored and then applied to the school setting.

Unit content

Topic 1: What is wellbeing?
Topic 2: Historical constructs of wellbeing
Topic 3: Wellbeing in educational contexts
Topic 4: Exploring the impact of teacher and leader wellbeing on schooling outcomes
Topic 5: Planning a community approach to enabling wellbeing for all
Topic 6: Evaluating the impact of a wellbeing approach

Learning outcomes and graduate attributes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit.
