These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
discuss the diversity of applications of computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided graphics
critically discuss the role of CAD, CAM (including additive and subtractive technologies) and other graphics applications in supporting industries, the economy and its impact on society
demonstrate a diversity of CAD methods, modes, tools, and techniques for 2D and 3D graphic work and manufacturing
demonstrate skills in applying CAD techniques to address design briefs in a range of industries
demonstrate advanced skills in the use of computer graphics applications in the development of multimedia for communication and presentation
apply design principles and processes to the implementation of CAD and graphics applications to meet a design brief
discuss the application of CAD in computer aided manufacturing (CAM) and emerging technologies, and the legal, ethical and environmental considerations.
