Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
apply recent theory and practice related to principles and processes of design and production, and associated industries
understand processes of design and production for developing design ideas, producing solutions, documenting, communicating and presenting evidence of the application of design thinking to project development
read, interpret and produce drawings using plane, solid and surface geometry to design and create complex projects using contemporary graphics techniques utilising Australian Standards (AS1100) including the use of CAD or 3D modelling programs
select and use a range of materials, tools and equipment such as CAM to safely realize the development of products as solutions to design needs and/or opportunities.
