    COVID 19 arrangements for session 3, 2020 - Online students must attend a mandatory online residential from Friday 4th - Sunday 6th December. 9:00a.m. - 12:00p.m , 1:00p.m. - 4:00p.m. This is a core unit of the Bachelor of Social Welfare, which is accredited by the Australian Community Workers Association (ACWA). In order to meet ACWA accreditation standards, all students are required to meet participation requirements to pass the unit . A record of attendance will be kept. Please note that On-campus students must attend compulsory weekly workshops and online students must attend a compulsory intensive.

Unit description

Overviews the role of the counsellor within an Australian context, and shows how research, personal self-awareness and skill development contribute to the development of the therapeutic relationship in counselling.
