Unit description

This unit builds on the AI fundamentals in the prerequisite unit and provides in-depth knowledge and skills in deep learning, image processing, and computer vision.

Module 3:  Case study 1: Perform Optical Character Recognition (OCR)

Module 4:  Object detection and recognition

Module 5:  Case study 2: Face detection/recognition

Learning outcomes

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

analyse artificial intelligence based image processing and vision technologies to apply them to different applications

analyse and apply contemporary image analysis and computer vision tools to solve real-world problems

implement image analysis, object detection and recognition techniques.

evaluate different image analysis and computer-vision-based solutions and communicate insights.
