Unit description

The unit introduces students to the principles of IT project management, from a project manager's perspective, in an organisational setting, and the skills needed to plan and manage projects with teams. Students will be introduced to the methodologies, tools, techniques and considerations necessary to complete a successful project. Students will also learn the fundamental IT governance principles.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

select and apply appropriate tools, techniques and practices for project development

engage in peer or self-evaluation and critically analyse the impact of teamwork and communication on project management outcomes

explain and model fundamental governance principles in IT

integrate Indigenous perspectives in communicating and managing projects in an Information Technology context.
