Unit description

Introduces students to research paradigms and methodologies, scholarly traditions in the creative arts, humanities and social sciences, and research ethics and management.  

Unit content

Surveys the history, philosophies and methodologies of research particularly as they pertain to creative arts, humanities and Social Sciences.

Develops an understanding of research approaches and perspectives in the broad context of contemporary research practices.

Students develop skills in critically evaluating research.

Develop skills of research management and organisation.

Critically evaluate terms, concepts methodologies used by researchers within Arts and Social Sciences

Identify ethical, social and cultural implications of research in artistic/academic fields
