Unit Snapshot

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

identify and analyse major social and cultural developments in Australia and their interpretations from the end of World War I to the present time

interrogate the ways in which race, class, gender and ethnicity and changes in broader society have altered the ways historians this century now think and write histories

critically analyse primary sources for the purposes of interpreting the past.
