Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

compare and contrast the principles and technological foundations of Building Information Modelling

evaluate the interoperability of building information modelling software products and critically analyse standardised data formats

analyse the organisational and legal aspects of building information modelling-based collaboration

Integrate building information modelling methodologies and tools across the lifecycle phases of a built facility

create advanced BIM models using point cloud and AI technologies

visualise and analyse building designs in a virtual environment with AR and VR simulations.
