    It is assumed that students are familiar with the main features of the Australian hydrologic cycle, basic statistical analysis of time-series data and the principles of risk-based hydrologic design, e.g. as taught in the unit ENVR2010 - Principles of Stormwater and Drainage Management.


Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

describe the structure, inputs and outputs, and features of different rainfall-runoff modelling approaches

identify, locate and prepare all necessary input data and other information needed to construct a rainfall-runoff model for different catchments

produce a written technical report based on proficient application of rainfall-runoff modelling to a real-world hydrologic design problem using industry-standard software.
