Unit description

This unit develops the appropriate skills and knowledge to facilitate exercise therapy within musculoskeletal conditions.

Unit content

Topic 1: Pathophysiology, aetiology, signs, symptoms, disease stages, diagnostic procedures of musculoskeletal conditions
Topic 2: Medical and allied health management including medications, relevant surgeries and expected outcomes, evidence-based therapies, evidence-based exercise and physical therapies
Topic 3: Relevant literature searches
Topic 4: Physiological, clinical and functional assessments
Topic 5: Exercise prescription
Topic 6: Safe conduct and contraindications to exercise
