Unit description

Introduces students to the concepts of entrepreneurship, the new venture creation process, and the entrepreneurial environment. To provide students with an understanding of the entrepreneurs and their entrepreneurial behaviour, several entrepreneurship theories and their applications will also be examined and discussed.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

identify conceptual and practical issues that facilitate creativity and innovation

explain theories and models of entrepreneurship and innovation and apply to the analysis of relevant case studies

clearly and effectively communicate a convincing business case, value proposition or innovative solution to prospective investors.
