Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

evaluate and interpret laboratory results to inform clinical decision-making demonstrated through complex case studies of real-life cases

reflect on and articulate the development of professional competencies and personal growth across the degree

integrate ethical principles and professional standards in the practice of medical laboratory science

attain competence in medical laboratory science in alignment with the Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists (AIMS) standards

integrate and apply Medical Laboratory Science knowledge and skills to analyse laboratory data, and solve practical problems in professional practice, communicating through written, verbal, and practical formats
