Learning outcomes and graduate attributes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
Learning outcome count | Learning outcome description | GA1 | GA2 | GA3 | GA4 | GA5 | GA6 | GA7 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | examine the prevalence of diabetes globally | |||||||
2 | investigate the aetiology and pathophysiology of diabetes and other disorders of carbohydrate metabolism | |||||||
3 | compare and evaluate medications used in the treatment of diabetes mellitus and insulin therapies and management of patients on insulin | |||||||
4 | explore the role of physical activity and its relationship to glucose metabolism | |||||||
5 | provide accurate information for screening and diagnostic criteria for T1DM T2DM and gestational diabetes | |||||||
6 | explore the role of insulin pump therapy, and understand the role of the diabetes educator for insulin initiation and dose titration within scope of practice. |
