Unit description

Provides the student with the opportunity to apply the principles and objectives of an effective exercise assessment program. Program design is studied in detail in relation to different populations. Aspects of consultation, interview and testing techniques, health education and counselling will be studied with an emphasis on developing practical skills.

Unit content

Topic 1: General principles of exercise testing and screening 
Topic 2: General principles of exercise prescription and programming 
Topic 3: Selecting and implementing appropriate fitness and exercise tests. 
Topic 4: Designing exercise programs for healthy individuals 
Topic 5: Conducting and evaluating training programs and outcomes
