Unit description

Provides an opportunity to study selected areas of psychology at an advanced level. Students will-through attending presentations by a range of guest speakers, summarising those presentations, and evaluating their strengths and weaknesses-develop a deeper conceptual understanding of areas of interest. In addition, students will gain skills in writing on complex scientific subject matter for a broader audience.

Unit content

This is one of two units which cover:

  1. The research process
  2. Professional issues in psychology
  3. Disseminating research
  4. Research case studies
  5. Case studies in professional pathways and development
  6. Advanced content in various areas of contemporary psychological theory and practice
