    To be eligible you must have either completed the appropriate core and elective units within the Bachelor of Psychology or completed the Bachelor of Psychological Science or the Graduate Diploma of Psychology according to the Award rules as specified in the Student Handbook

Unit description

Provides students with the opportunity to obtain experience in conducting empirical research, under supervision, in a specialised field of psychology. The project will lead to a report in the form of a journal article, a critical review of the research literature and a statistical report.

Unit content

This is one of four units which span Sessions 1 and 2 and include:

  • Development of a research question
  • Writing an ethics application
  • Completion of a detailed literature review
  • Design and execution of a research project
  • Appropriate analysis and reporting of empirical data
  • Reporting research findings as a conference presentation
  • Writing a research report in the style of a journal article
