Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

demonstrate an ability to establish and follow an ambitious individual studio program

demonstrate strong self-reliance and self-direction, and the ability to construct a work program with coherent direction

demonstrate the ability to produce artistic results that display advanced skill acquisition, confidence and control in theoretical concepts

stage a professional presentation and documentation of artworks in their final submission of a completed folio

demonstrated understanding of how to edit and consolidate their studio artwork and outcomes in preparation for professional outcomes such as exhibition opportunities or the Graduate Exhibition

display strong understanding and process for critical inquiry, enabling questioning and discussion of the issues relevant to current theory in their chosen discipline of fine art and in broader art practice.
