Overview
By undertaking an online Master of Project Management with Southern Cross University, you'll develop the practical skills and knowledge you need to become a capable leader in an area of tremendous job growth.
The degree is aligned with the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) benchmarking tool – Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) and is endorsed by the Australian Institute of Project Management. Choose a range of elective units relevant to healthcare, engineering, IT, accounting and business, and design your own study plan to focus on one particular sector or make your mark in an emerging field.
To gain your qualification, you need to study all core units, four electives of your choice, and complete completing an industry research project to consolidate your project management skills.
If you have already completed some postgraduate study, you may be eligible to apply for advanced standing, enabling you to pay less and be qualified even sooner. Learn more about the online course offering.

Career Outcomes
This course is endorsed by the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM). Students who have completed an AIPM-endorsed course are eligible to apply for a certificate as a Certified Practicing Project Practitioner (CPPP) under AIPM's RegPM program. To qualify for CPPP, students must apply for Associate Membership with a copy of their qualification.

Entry requirements
Credit for prior learning
- Candidates who have completed an AQF level 9 qualification in a related field of business and management (such as a Masters of Business Administration), and who have completed a specified unit on Project Management, may be granted one (1) unit of advanced standing for the unit Project Management Principles.
- Candidates who have completed an AQF level 9 qualification in a related field of business and management, may be granted four (4) units of advanced standing from only Part B of the schedule.
Course requirements
To be eligible to receive the Master of Project Management students must complete the equivalent of 12 units (144 credit points) comprising:
- 9 core units (108 credit points), and
- 3 equivalent elective units (36 credit points).
