Overview
The Master of Information Technology is designed for both IT and non-IT professionals looking to advance their career in a rapidly-evolving industry. The application of IT tools and technologies for transforming businesses and creating new digital businesses is a focus.
The course is underpinned by a strong industry-linked program, entrepreneurship incubation in the University's Digital Enterprise Lab and industry-relevant research. Students will develop their technical, leadership and management skills with advanced coursework and real world projects.
Together with core units in data science, cyber security, software development and user experience, students have the option to tailor their studies with advanced specialist units.

Data science, cyber security, software development, user experience. Specialist units include advanced cyber security, big data analysis, computational intelligence and machine learning, computer forensics, internet engineering, pervasive and immersive user experience, programming for the internet of things, mobile and cloud systems.

Course requirements
To be eligible to receive the Master of Information Technology students must complete 192 credit points, comprising:
- 8 core units (1 double weighted unit), and
- 60 credit points in a specialisation, and
- 24 credit points in electives.
