This course offers specialisations in Educational Leadership, Educational Wellbeing and Educational Inclusion and Diversity.

Course Learning Outcome

GA1: Intellectual rigour

Engage with research and apply specialised knowledge in educational contexts and render justifiable conclusions for decisions made.

GA2: Creativity

Formulate future-oriented initiatives by generating innovative and creative responses to emerging educational challenges.

GA3: Ethical practice

Critically evaluate the implications of challenging ethical issues in education at the interpersonal, organisational, and governance levels.

GA4: Knowledge of a discipline

Demonstrate advanced and integrated theoretical and practical knowledge through research-related practices within a specialised area of education with a global perspective.

GA5: Lifelong learning

Critically reflect on current skills, knowledge and attitudes to plan and implement ongoing personal and professional learning.

GA6: Communication and social skills

Demonstrate advanced oral and written communication skills in both academic and professional education settings for leadership, collaboration and teamwork effects.

GA7: Cultural competence

Critically reflect on global perspectives of educational practice and demonstrate respect for inclusion and diversity.

The Master of Education consists of four core units and three specialisation options: Educational Leadership, Educational Wellbeing and Educational Inclusion and Diversity.

A further option is to complete the four core units and then select four more units from the course offerings, tailored to your interest.

Course requirements

To be eligible to receive the Master of Education students must complete the equivalent of 8 units (96 credit points), comprising:

  • 1 specialisation in Educational Leadership or Educational Wellbeing or Educational Inclusion and Diversity (96 credit points); OR

  • 5 core units (60 credit points) and any 3 units from the Specialisations (36 credit points).

Exit Awards

Students may be eligible to exit with the Graduate Certificate in Education after completing the equivalent of 4 units (48 credit points), comprising 4 core units.

Entry requirements

English language requirements apply to International applicants and other applicants whose previous study was undertaken in a language other than English. The minimum English language requirements for such applicants for entry to this course are as follows
