Overview

The Graduate Certificate of Childhood and Youth Studies is designed to meet the needs of people working, or intending to work, with children, young people and their families. The Graduate Certificate also provides a pathway to the Master of Childhood and Youth Studies.

Studies include understanding and engaging with children and young people and the option to select two from topics children’s rights, promoting children’s protection and participation, children and the law and strengthening young people’s social and emotional wellbeing.

Course requirements

  1. To be eligible for the award of Graduate Certificate of Childhood and Youth Studies a candidate shall successfully complete not less than four (4) units comprising:
    1. All units from Part A of the Schedule of Units attached to these Rules;
    2. Two units from Part B of the Schedule;
  2. A candidate who while enrolled for the Master of Childhood and Youth Studies has completed the requirements of the Graduate Certificate of Childhood and Youth Studies may elect to be awarded the Graduate Certificate following withdrawal from candidature for the Master’s award.

Entry requirements

English language requirements apply to International applicants and other applicants whose previous study was undertaken in a language other than English. The minimum English language requirements for such applicants for entry to this course are as follows
