Overview

The Associate Degree of Business is a two-year course (full-time or part-time equivalent) that develops knowledge in a range of topics that are relevant to various careers in the private and public business sectors. The topics address core business principles such as accounting, communication in organisations, economics, marketing and tourism.

The Associate degree enables eligible graduates to progress on to the Southern Cross University business and tourism degrees to enhance their career opportunities. Graduates of the Associate degree can complete their Bachelor degree with just one year of additional full-time study (or part-time equivalent).

The Associate Degree of Business is offered through SCU College.

The course covers a broad range of business topics such as business language and organisational communication through to accounting, marketing principles, statistics, technology for business, ethics and sustainability. Students can also select to focus on an area of their interest for part of the course including accounting, finance, human resource management, international business, information systems, marketing, or digital marketing.

Course requirements

  1. To be eligible for an Associate Degree of Business a candidate shall successfully complete sixteen (16) units (or 192 credit points) units comprising:
    1. all eight (8) units from Part A; and
    2. all four (4) units from Part B; and
    3. any four (4) elective units chosen from Southern Cross Business School undergraduate unit offerings, subject to pre-requisites.
  2. To be eligible for a Diploma of Business a candidate shall successfully complete eight (8) units from Part A or Part B.

Entry requirements

English language requirements apply to International applicants and other applicants whose previous study was undertaken in a language other than English. The minimum English language requirements for such applicants for entry to this course are as follows
