The course has a strong technical focus and will prepare you with practical and problem-solving abilities that every modern organisation needs. As a graduate, you will be able to apply skills in programming, web development and cyber security to systems analysis and design, databases and networks. Alternatively, choose to continue on for another year for your Bachelor qualification and specialise in your IT passion!
The University offers the 'Women in Technology' program which provides dedicated support for women entering this industry. Throughout the year, social and networking events are held for female students. The program has a coordinator who acts as an advocate for the students, offering support and advice for women entering this industry.
This entry-level course comprises the first two years (16 units) of the Bachelor of Information Technology. Core units cover programming, web development and cyber security, systems analysis, contemporary issues in IT, databases and networks. Successful graduates may upgrade their qualification to Bachelor level following completion of an additional year of study.
